i’m divorced (may 2004)paying child support ($1,070/month), re-married same year (oct 2004), ex-wife claims our 2 boys ages 4 & 8, my wife has 1 child didn't work for like 4 months, i'm in the military and tax exempt since april 2004 to dec 04, should we do our taxes together? or file separately? how can we get the most of our return/credits? thanks joe

Since AZ is a community property state it would be most beneficial for you to file married filing jointly with your current wife, claiming her child as a dependent. Based on the situation you described, your ex-wife is entitled to claim you 2 boys since they resided with her most of the year.
