Tax Help to clain rent as an allowance

Sent to Tax Experts June 12 11:10 AM

Hi

I am resident of CA married and renting. My company has provided me with an oppertunity where I would have to stay out the country for atleast two weeks a month for next 1 year.
My question is can I ask my company to provide my rent as an allowance as I will not be staying in apt for 15 days a month though my wife will be staying there for the entire duration.
( By allowance is that I give my company the receipt of the rent and they pay me as expense of for the job. Like a hotel rent.)

thanks for your advice
Tony
